The Observatory of the Consulting Practices is an initiative of a former student, Jérôme Grignon, and the Master in Business Consulting, who has for objective to follow the major evolutions in the sector of the consulting regarding missions, practices and technologies. More exactly, three sectors will be studied: management, organization / operations and information technologies.

All the actors of the Master of Business Consulting: students, partners and teachers-researchers will collaborate around this project.


The principals missions are :

  •  Prospective on the evolution of the missions of Consulting and audit

It will be a question of listing 10 major annual evolutions in subjects of consulting missions. An investigation will be led with the main market players, by students of the Master of Business Consulting.

  • Study of consultant's job

This mission will consist in analyzing the practices of work and coordination between the consultants and/or the auditors. More exactly, this mission will base on 3 areas of research :

  1. Custumer / Consultant relationship :legitimacy of the consultant, the role of the techniques of management such as Lean or Six Sigma, etc.

  2. Dynamics of the working environment of the consultants: spatial environment at the time of the globalization, multi-space out of work and coordination, etc.

  3. Factory of the tools of management by the consultants: emergence of the ready for delivery, the tools and the techniques bound for the customers, etc.


These two missions will have for objective to improve the understanding of the sector of Consulting and consultant's job, by highlighting:

  • Assessment and annual prospective on the evolution of the job and the sector.

  • Better understanding of the professional dynamics and the working practices of the consultants and the auditors.
